Win the Day. What to do after you fall off the wagon.

Psalm 118:24 English Standard Version (ESV)
24 This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

A Bad Couple of Days

I have a couple of clients that started coming to kickboxing classes back in May and recently started Strength for life class and asked me for some nutritional counseling. Both of them want to lose weight and change their body composition. They have been doing great losing inches and pounds. Tuesday they both sat in the weight room and asked me “how do you come back from a really bad couple of days where you went way off the plan?” They felt defeated, embarrassed and guilty for eating and drinking things they know would prevent them from reaching their goals.

Win the Day

First of all let me say I am proud of both of them for coming to me and asking for help and advice it takes courage to do that. My answer was short and fast. I said, “Put aside the guilt and move on today is a new day, cut your losses.”

Win The Day.

So what does that mean to you? Winning today means making progress. There are about 100 days left in 2017.
Now you’re probably not going to have 100 wins in 100 days…but that’s the magic with this mentality.
Your job isn’t to win the next 100…no, it’s to win 1.

Today.

And if you focus on just winning today…then you’ll likely succeed. That will yield momentum for tomorrow…setting you up for another likely victory. And the streak has started.

Move On

Yes, you’re going to have days where it’s all you can do to keep your head above water…days where you eat the wrong things, lose focus or things don’t go your way.

That’s ok. (it is really)

Move on to the next one and Win. Look Even even if you win 50 of the 100 or so days left this year you’ll do more in about 30% of the year then most do with all of it. And if you win more…well, the sky’s the limit.

But the key is simply Winning The Day. Don’t worry if you feel behind…if you struggle for a day or two.
It only takes one Win to get you back on track. So as you begin each morning…remind yourself of this one job:

Win The Day.

If I can help you win more days, let me know.

Ron
